Hauwa Abubakar is a youth leader, climate and environmental data analyst, and Founder of PlanetCred, a sustainability and climate-tech initiative focused on localizing climate education across Africa and developing Nigeria’s first grassroots MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) system for community climate action.
She is a young African climate data voice and content creator with over 70,000 followers across social media platforms, where she shares insights on climate change, environmental justice, and data-driven solutions for sustainability.
Hauwa has spoken at the United Nations 80th Anniversary, served as the face of EU Diplomacy Week, and hosted the UNICEF Nigeria #YesGirl podcast. She has also facilitated technical sessions at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Laboratory and spoken at Nile University on climate, data, and innovation.
Through her work with PlanetCred and her public advocacy, she contributes to national and global conversations on youth inclusion in climate action, climate data systems, and sustainable innovation, with a focus on building accessible, community-driven climate education and verification systems across Africa.
